Reggae Jam is smaller compared to other major European reggae festivals like Rototom Sunsplash or the Summerjam Festival. However, in recent years, the number of visitors has steadily increased, and the artists have become more well-known. In the early years, the festival mostly featured a few stars and many newcomers, primarily from Germany. In the reader poll of the magazine Riddim, Reggae Jam secured the second place among festivals in 2005, 2006, and 2007. From 2008 to 2015, it was voted the best reggae festival in Germany, achieving the top spot eight years in a row.
